For Such a Time as This

Written by Pete Kantor, Chief Operating Officer of Blue Trust

I write this message having recently surpassed the 100-day mark as Blue Trust’s new chief operating officer.  The whirlwind of these early days was buffered by welcome messages from teammates indicating they were praying for my arrival and future success, client and teammate meetings that almost always start with prayer, an executive leadership team that dedicates a portion of its meeting time to a devotional, and a leadership decision to “tithe” our company’s profits by donating over $1 million to ministries driving a significant Kingdom impact.

To say this has been a unique onboarding experience is a monumental understatement.  These 100 days have served as a refreshing validation that the Kingdom mission and values that drew me to Blue Trust are more than just words on a wall or website; they are alive, woven deeply into the fabric of our company, and put into practice every day by our teammates.  I am truly grateful for the privilege of serving alongside them in support of our mission to help our clients experience financial freedom as they fulfill the Great Commission.

Stepping into 2025, I am filled with anticipation and excitement for the journey ahead.  Our industry is witnessing seismic shifts in technological innovation while at the same time navigating an unprecedented generational wealth transfer.  This year, Blue Trust is launching technological and operational transformations that will drive increased process automation, enhanced collaboration, and, ultimately, a more personalized experience for our clients.  These transformations are complex and challenging, but they are part of our commitment to be good stewards of the resources with which we’ve been entrusted.

With these critical transformations ahead of us, I couldn’t help but feel a touch of irony as we announced our Blue Trust leadership theme for 2025: “For Such a Time as This.”  This theme draws inspiration from the powerful biblical story of Esther—one that embodies courage, purpose, and unwavering faith.  Esther was an ordinary woman who found herself in an extraordinary position. Orphaned and raised by her cousin Mordecai, she became queen at a time when her people faced imminent danger.  Approaching the King uninvited to advocate for her people would put her life at risk.  Mordecai’s words to her, “Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?” (Esther 4:14), challenged her to consider her purpose and God’s divine timing.  Of course, Esther accepted this assignment famously saying, “If I perish, I perish,” and ultimately saved her people.

Esther was divinely placed in a position of influence during a critical time for her people. Her story reminds us that we each have a unique, God-given purpose and a moment at which we must courageously step out in faith.  As we guide our clients toward financial clarity and confidence, we encourage them to ask themselves: What is God’s purpose for my life? How can I use my resources to fulfill it?  Just as Esther used her position to advocate for her people, we invite you to consider how your financial decisions can create a legacy of generosity that echoes through generations.

As we embark on this journey together in 2025, let us hold onto the truth that each of us has been placed in our roles “for such a time as this.”  Each challenge presents an opportunity for growth; each decision can lead us closer to fulfilling our divine purpose.  At Blue Trust, we are dedicated to walking alongside you as you navigate your financial and Kingdom journey.   Together, we can achieve remarkable results—transforming not only our lives but also those around us for God’s glory.

Thank you for being part of the Blue Trust family. We look forward to serving you in 2025 and beyond!
