Nathan Staub is the managing partner of Calvin Edwards & Company (now part of Blue Trust).
Nathan took over the leadership of Calvin Edwards & Company (CEC) in 2022 after working at the firm for several years. He joined CEC as he recognized a gap between stories (often old and repeated) leaders and fundraisers would tell about a nonprofit—and the current work and its impact in the field.
As an employee at CEC before leading the company, Nathan produced a wide breadth of CEC’s investment-grade reports, including large pieces of research of over 70 pages and short advisory analysis across portfolios of giving opportunities. He also led CEC’s effort on behalf of a client to conduct due diligence on 60 organizations in Afghanistan amid the Taliban takeover in 2021, which resulted in the deployment of significant capital to both rescue and in-country relief efforts. Nathan has conducted due diligence on nonprofits in over 30 countries on five continents and continues to produce primary research in addition to leading the organization.
Before his work at CEC, he was the director of acquisitions for a small boutique investment firm in Atlanta, where he also led the partnership with an industry-leading nonprofit.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts with a major in business from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he played football and was named to the All-ACC Academic team for four consecutive years.
Nathan met his wife, Hero, in Hawaii, and they live in the Atlanta area. They enjoy paddle boarding, game nights, and Braves baseball.
