

Jim Summers is a senior family office advisor serving in the Family Office division of Blue Trust.
Jim has over 27 years of experience helping families intentionally design a multi-generational plan for transferring the social, spiritual, and financial capital necessary for the family to thrive. His biblical worldview and uncommon approach to financial, estate, trust, and investment planning emphasize a principle-driven wealth transition that properly prepares and equips each generation.
Before joining the company, Jim worked for Ronald Blue & Co. CPAs as a partner/owner. While there, he served in various capacities such as financial planner, financial advisor, West Coast Everyday Steward team leader, business valuation team lead, tax manager, tax partner, and Ronald Blue & Co. CPAs family office practice director. Before Ronald Blue & Co. CPAs, Jim served in various roles within a family business real estate development company, as part of an audit team within a Big Four professional accounting firm, and as a tax accountant in a local CPA firm.
Jim graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, with a BS in accounting. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM professional (CFP®), and a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA®). He is also a board member and the treasurer of the Mamba and Mambacita Sports Foundation.
Active in the community, Jim is a member of his local church. He’s also a member of the National Eagle Scout Association (Boy Scouts of America/Eagle Scout). He enjoys outdoor activities, including hiking, backpacking, exploring, pistol/rifle target shooting, and watersports.
Jim and his wife, Sylvia, have a son and a daughter and live in Yorba Linda, California.
