

John leads the Institutional division, overseeing the growth and expansion of our service offering to endowments, foundations, and ministries. John has over 35 years of experience in institutional investment consulting, serving clients across the globe, both small and large.
John brings extensive experience in executive leadership, research and strategy, and leadership in investments and finance. He previously worked as chief investment officer, director of global investment strategy for The Boston Company Asset Management, and principal/portfolio manager at Mercer Investment Management. John’s experience includes roles at Standish Mellon Asset Management, The Tower Group, Fidelity Investments Institutional Services, and Federated Investors.
Before joining Blue Trust, John worked as vice president of finance & administration at Montreat College, serving as the college’s chief financial officer. Previously, he directed finance and business development operations at Gordon College in Wenham, MA.
John earned his BA in history and religion from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA, and his MBA with a concentration in finance from the University of Pittsburgh. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. He also serves as an elder in his church and chairs the board of Covenant College. John and his wife, Laurie, have three adult children and three grandchildren.
